Crisis Line Volunteers

Connect2Help is looking for interested community members to help us with our suicide and crisis calls. Each volunteer will be provided with free training on how to help our callers and direct them to the level of care best suited for their needs. We offer 40-hour volunteer training each month. We will ask our trained volunteers to help us a few times a month, as it is convenient with their schedule.

NO EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED! Our training will give the crisis volunteers all they need to assess their callers, practice active listening, how to reflect empathy and how to provide referrals to meet the caller’s needs. Resource Database Volunteers

 Are you detail-oriented and curious about resources in our community?

If so, we need your help to update our Connect2Help resource database.  Resource database volunteers will make calls to the non-profits and faith-based organizations that provide help to our neighbors in central Indiana.  The information gathered will then be data-entered into our searchable online database.  Our database helps thousands of neighbors and professionals find the right services to keep the lights on, bellies full, medicines in the cabinet and so much more.

For volunteers interested in making calls and gathering information, we have hours available during typical daytime business hours.  For volunteers that would love to help out with data-entry we could also offer additional times during the evenings and weekends, if that is better suited to your schedule.  We can accommodate nearly anyone’s schedule.  NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY!  Training will be provided.  Give a little time or a lot.  It’s all appreciated!

Board Members

Looking to make an impact in the lives of Hoosiers? Do you want to touch the lives of those in need of life’s most basic necessities? Connect2Help is actively seeking interested and qualified individuals to join our Board of Directors. Individuals with fundraising and management experience, as well as individuals with backgrounds in law or technology are highly sought. Board members advise, govern, oversee policy and direction, assist with leadership and the general promotion of Connect2Help so as to support our mission and needs. Board members have a direct and significant impact in how well Connect2Help is able to serve the people of Indiana.

Board members contribute, on average, about 4-6 hours per month attending board/committee meetings and other board-related events. In exchange for your time and passion, you have the opportunity to work with a dynamic group of people and know that your work changes lives every day. From our board members, to our staff, to our funding partners, Connect2Help attracts a remarkable group of compassionate and diverse personalities.
